Jack Church spoke with Stephanie Justice, family recruiter for Safe Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY) in Somerset, Kentucky. Justice said there are over nine thousand kids waiting for foster families across Kentucky and over 150 at any given time in the Somerset area alone. Justice talked about how rewarding being a foster family can by while providing much needed stability in a child's life with about fifty percent of the kids eventually returning to their biological parents while the other half stay in foster care leading to adoption.
