Sarah Shaver chats with Ellie Rigby, Executive Director of Renovation Alliance (RA), serving Roanoke, Salem, Botetourt, Franklin, and Floyd counties in Virginia. Rigby outlines the RA history and their mission, performing home repairs for low-income homeowners, from roofs and HVAC systems to accessibility features. She says they’ve completed over 7,000 individual projects over the years and partner with volunteers and area contractors to create safe, healthy homes as well as build relationships and strengthen communities. Rigby also tells listeners how they helped Mrs. R reclaim her entire home after only being able to live safely in one room.
