LOCAL Closer Look: Hope House - Lewiston Maine

Peter Kaye speaks with Kaileigh Tara and Anna Mavungo of Hope House, a nonprofit organization in downtown Lewiston providing support to the hungry and homeless. Tara states that there is only a one percent vacancy rate for housing in Lewiston and speaks to the challenges that brings. She proudly shares of Hope House’s various programs including free weekly food markets, women’s health clinic, clothing and more. Mavungo shares her story of coming to Lewiston as a single mom from Africa. She remembers her struggles and how Hope House was there for her and now she is in a position to help others.
