Day 1 The Healing Devotional

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. - Romans 8:28

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that trials and trauma are a natural part of it all. There hasn’t been ONE person that I’ve met on planet earth that hasn’t experienced hardship or hasn’t been wounded in some way by their past or present circumstance. It’s something that we all go through, yet, we feel so alone and so broken within those places in our hearts.

There’s another big lesson I’ve learned in this life, and that is this: No matter what I have had to face, I’ve never had to face it alone. God has been right there with me, bringing comfort, strength, and lighting the path towards my healing and wholeness. This is where our hope lies! Knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us, but that even our worst pain He uses every bit of it to bring Glory and honor to His name. All throughout scripture we can see and be reminded that God is in the business of bringing healing and restoration to our lives. All we have to do is trust and obey that He is at work and be willing to open our hearts to receive what He has for us. I know this can be easier said than done. Healing from things deeply rooted in fear shame and pain is no easy task. And sometimes, what the Lord has for us is not something we want to hear! He can lead us to places of love and forgiveness to receive healing but also places of correction and humility. It’s an ever-going journey but again we can rest in knowing that nothing, absolutely nothing, is too much for Him to handle.

Say this prayer with me:

Lord,

Open my heart and my mind to see all the good you have for me in the midst of the challenges I am facing. Help me to trust and obey that your will and direction are for my good and ultimately for my own healing and wholeness. Let me rest in truth that you are with me and that you are healing every broken piece and binding every wound. I believe in who You are and what you are capable of doing in my life. Even when I can’t see what you’re doing or fear tries to step in, let my faith rise up within me.

Amen.
