5 Things To Do With Your Extra Hour

Devotion Saving Time

Every year like clockwork we are told to “fall backward” and “spring forward” for DST, Daylight Saving Time. As we look forward to 2021, which for some of us can’t get here soon enough, it’s hard to imagine why we would even want an extra hour of 2020!

Instead of binging an extra episode, or simply sleeping the time away, let’s focus on falling forward into healthy routines by Devoting Some Time to Worship! Worship doesn’t always have to feel like meditation or look like a bible study session. Sometimes just turning on Air1 radio for an hour and worshiping through it is the right move.

Here are 5 things to do with your extra hour while you listen:

  1. Pick a New Favorite Artist – Air1 is THE worship station that brings you the newest music from your favorite artists! While you’re listening, try to find one new artist that you enjoy, and then go find out a little more about them. Many of our artists are pastors in their own community with an incredible story to tell! When you’re ready to go deeper with an Air1 artist then check out their artist page on Air1.com

  2. Write A Letter To Family And Mail It  – When was the last time you wrote a letter and actually mailed it? The process of writing thoughts down on paper can be very healing. Releasing our mind of those thoughts in the physical process of writing is an excellent way to destress and reroute unhelpful thoughts. Even if you just write the letter and don’t send it you can still get all the benefits of this exercise, but if you’re feeling brave put a stamp on it! Some thoughts are better to write down and simply throw in the trash too!

  3. Start A New Hobby – If there’s one thing we’ve learned from 2020 it’s that we have way too much time on our hands now that all our old hobbies and all our plans have been canceled! If you don’t already have an at-home hobby then it can be a little challenging to get started on one. If you’re looking for free ideas then you’re sure to find a winner at the Air1 Pinterest page! We have idea boards for everything from crafting to Christmas cheer!

  4. Keep A Daily Prayer Journal – The power of prayer is immeasurable, but we can measure daily prayer. Keeping a prayer journal is an easy way to stay accountable to yourself and to God. Write down your prayer requests including prayers for others, and everything that you are thankful for. You would be surprised at how powerful it feels to write your prayers down rather than saying them out loud. Unlike spoken prayers, at the end of the week you can review your written prayers to see if you asked for what you really needed, and gave thanks for all you have been blessed with.

  5. Create A Worship Playlist – We all have that ONE song that always fills our cup to overflowing. You know the one! Songs like that have an ability to stir the stagnant air in the room and breathe the fresh breath of life back into our hearts. As you’re listening to Air1 try to find a few songs that move you and save them for a rainy day. If you don't have time to create your own playlists then check out our Air1 Playlists on Spotify, or you can download your favorite songs from our Songs and Lyrics pages.
