Worship Now: Cherishing a Worship-Filled 2022

Join in for a Q&A while we ask the Air1 DJs to reflect on some of their favorite worship moments of 2022 and look ahead to how we can all worship in the new year.

Careth

Air1: How have you worshipped God this year?

Careth: By waking up an hour earlier each day to read my Bible and pray. It's made a big difference in my mindset for the rest of the day.

Air1: What is a moment of Worship you have cherished from this year?

Careth: There was something that happened this year that would have normally made me spiral into an anxiety abyss... But because I was able to think back on times in the past when I thought my world was crumbling, only to have God turn it into something good... I had peace in that moment instead.

Air1: What will you do to Worship in the new year?

Careth: In 2023, I want to worship by becoming more involved in my local community. Try to find ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Air1: How have you worshipped God this year?

Ashton: Through the little things. A walk, bike ride...obviously, outside is my place to worship (there's no roof or walls to obstruct his creation).

Air1: What is a moment of Worship you have cherished from this year?

Ashton: Leading my 6 year-old through the prayer of salvation. My heart swelled and the happiest of tears flowed.

Air1: What will you do to Worship in the new year?

Ashton: Make it a priority to worship. Make the time when it feels like there is none. Try to make my worship as autonomous as breathing; can't exist without it.

Michelle

Air1: How have you worshipped God this year?

Michelle: One of the things I love about working at Air1 is that I worship God all day, every day. I worship in the car. At home. Everywhere with the Air1 app.

Air1: What is a moment of Worship you have cherished from this year?

Michelle: The weekday mornings are busy and early, so I especially enjoy the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the weekend mornings. We spend a lot of time together playing games and listening to worship. Hearing my kids sing along melts me.

Air1: What will you do to Worship in the new year?

Michelle: All of the above. :)

Air1: How have you worshipped God this year?

CJ: Early Mornings! I have two little kids and it can be really hard to find quiet time throughout the day because when you’re a parent to little kids life is nuts all the time. So most mornings my alarm goes off at 4:30am and I spent the first hour of the day doing my quiet time, listening, praying and making sure I’m centered for the rest of the day! That is my worship, early in the morning.

Air1: What is a moment of Worship you have cherished from this year?

CJ: One Sunday at church my oldest daughter didn’t have Sunday school and had to sit with me in the service, which is the first time that has ever happened. She’s 7 years old and just having her sitting with me was so cool. Having her sing the songs, read words off the prompters, ask questions and be involved in the sermon. She’s a little kid and I was afraid she’d be bored, she wasn’t, she actually kind of liked it! It was a really cool moment because my wife wasn’t there on that particular Sunday. So as my daughter was with me it became a super special memory that we shared for the first time.

Air1: What will you do to Worship in the new year?

CJ: Podcasting! Podcasts are just the best for me. I'm either walking the dog or I’m inside the car and podcasting is a quick way to get some worship in. I will plug the company we work for AccessMore, great podcasting! Every single week I listen to the Andy Stanley podcast which is called “Your Move” because I went to his church when I used to live in Atlanta Georgia. With all the amazing content out there we are really lucky as Christians that we can conveniently worship through a lot of that amazing content! I cannot wait to dive headfirst into more podcasting in 2023.

Mary

Air1: How have you worshipped God this year?

Mary: Getting out in nature is crucial for me - it's a place where I can find peace to listen & connect with God.

Air1: What is a moment of Worship you have cherished from this year?

Mary: Back to the nature scene 😉 - I was having one of "those" days several months ago & I knew I needed to get outside to breathe and chat with God. As I was heading out my front door, I noticed a couple of deer so I grabbed some apples & sat out in my yard and fed them. Through their majestic presence, I could feel an incredible closeness to God unlike anything I have ever experienced.

Air1: What will you do to Worship in the new year?

Mary: I want to be more intentional about beefing up the things in my life that help me stay close to God...music, prayer time, reading, connecting with others.
