Jack Church spoke with Laura Carr, Executive Director for the Lexington, Kentucky Rescue Mission. Carr talked about the growing need for services provided at the shelter and an increasing number of people in the Lexington area have been impacted by rising cost in food, housing and fuel over the past couple of years. The Mission has also seen an increase in the number of people with mental and addiction issues needing programs the mission offers. Carr that while the number are increasing the mission is able to at the present time keep up with demand but of course volunteers are always needed to help support the growing need.
