Peter Kaye speaks with Laurie Schwartz of Circle of Friends for the Dying, an organization providing free comfort care in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Schwartz draws from her decades of experience in Hospice to co-founding Circle of Friends in 2012 to the exciting news of the opening of Jim and Lisa’s Circle home this year! The home is the first comfort care home in Ulster County providing quality, loving end of life care for individuals with 3 months or less to live. Schwartz encourages starting the conversation early about end of life wishes, wills, power of attorney and other necessities to elevate the burden and streamline the process for those remaining.
