Album Spotlight: "Live From Europe" Kari Jobe

Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes Relive Epic European Tour on New Live Project

In the fall of 2023, Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes brought “The Blessing Tour” to the U.K. and Europe, visiting 16 different cities and spending nearly six weeks across the pond with their two young sons in tow. Now, they’re reliving their family adventure all over again and giving fans around the world the chance to catch a glimpse of the special outing on “Live From Europe.”

The seven-track project captures the fervor, excitement and zeal of the international trek that took the duo to the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, England, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. While Jobe’s name leads the record’s marquee, “Live From Europe” is undoubtedly a collaboration between the husband and wife, whose respective ministries are inextricably linked.

Backed by cheers and chants from the crowd, the unique live recording unexpectedly launches with a six-minute version of Elevation Worship’s chart-topping hit, “Praise,” which Carnes co-wrote with Brandon Lake, Steven Furtick, Chandler Moore and Chris Brown. The couple follows the megawatt anthem with Carnes’ latest No. 1, “Firm Foundation (He Won’t).” Coupled with familiar worship chorus “Great Are You Lord,” the signature song feels truly massive when accompanied by a global audience.

The pair also joins forces on Carnes’ pivotal track, “Run to the Father.” Beautifully capturing the paternal heart of God, they intertwine it with the well-known refrain of “Good Good Father.”

Another seamless mashup ensues when Jobe and tour opener Martin Smith unite for “Obsession” and “Worthy of It All.” Along with “Obsession,” Jobe also leads “First Love” — two standout tracks from 2020’s “The Blessing (Live).”

As for the namesake of that album and the subsequent tour, “The Blessing” is without a doubt the crown jewel of “Live From Europe.” Underscoring the Platinum-certified single’s widespread impact, this one-of-a-kind version of “The Blessing” features seven European worship leaders taking turns singing the GRAMMY®-nominated track in their native language. The multicultural iteration was recorded during a tour stop in Bath, U.K.

“Live From Europe” concludes with an expectant, chill-bump-inducing rendering of “Revelation Song,” the Jennie Lee Riddle-penned offering that propelled Jobe to notoriety. Exploding in an endless chorus of “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,” Jobe’s breakthrough smash proves the perfect exclamation point to a poignant assortment of highlights from the couple’s extraordinary European trek.

“These moments were just a few of the most precious experiences we had as a team. We pray that a fresh fire of the Holy Spirit continues to ignite as you worship with these moments,” Jobe says of the collection. “Leading worship through Europe will be something we’ll never forget. Europe — your hunger and longing for the presence of God has marked us forever. We know that we stepped into years and years of seeds sown and tears that watered the soil. We are forever grateful we got to be with you.”

Like a series of Polaroid snapshots, “Live From Europe” memorializes one of the couple’s most ambitious tours to date. The record not only showcases what a tour de force Jobe and Carnes are when they lead together, but it also emphasizes how many far-reaching songs they’ve had a hand in crafting, reiterating their reputation as two of the most significant worship leaders of our time.
