Newcomer Bodie discovers a God who speaks quietly on ‘Whisper and the Wind.’ The Los Angeles native introduces his soulful vocal on the striking original. “Help me learn to listen when You’re speaking, ‘cause love is not a secret that You’re keeping,” he asserts on the driving anthem.

The single affirms that God’s power is regularly revealed in small, seemingly insignificant instances, often when we least expect it. We just have to get still long enough to hear Him.
“I wrote this song as a reminder to myself, and a reminder to you, that God doesn’t always have to look one certain way. And I think, so often, we might see Him move in a miraculous, mind-blowing, mountain-shaking way — and that’s so awesome, and we’re so grateful that we get to see Him move in those ways — but He doesn’t always have to look or move a certain way,” Bodie shares. “Sometimes He’s there in the earthquake and the fire, but oftentimes — more often than not, I would say — He’s right there in His Spirit, in the whisper of our hearts, in the prayer room, in the moments where we feel most alone. So I wrote this song to remind you that He can move in multiple ways.”
Bodie weaves parts of his own story into “whisper and the wind,” a transparent longing to hear the still, small voice of God. The song’s music video — self-filmed with a $40 camera — further captures how God can be found in a million little ways, across a million ordinary moments and features a raw, unfiltered glimpse into the life he shares with his wife and three young children.
Growing up in California, Bodie first drew national attention as a contestant on Season 22 of “The Voice,” where his finale performance of Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude” became a viral hit. “whisper and the wind” is featured on his six-song debut EP, “HAPPY TO BE HERE.”
