Tiffany Hudson was asked to lead “Been So Good” on Elevation Worship’s latest collection, “CAN YOU IMAGINE?” The gratitude-soaked selection was a last-minute addition to the eight-track set. Writers Steven Furtick, Brandon Lake and Chandler Moore sent Hudson the demo the evening before the album’s live recording. The songstress — who recently released her first solo project, “Hidden Here” — listened to the rough version they sent while driving that night and admits she had to pull her car over to the side of the road to collect herself as a result of the emotion that welled up as the lyrics struck a personal chord.

“Although I did not write it, it feels like my life story. God has been so good, and I’ll spend my life thanking Him,” shares Hudson of the single. “The bridge of ‘Been So Good’ gets me every time. It feels like a movie plays in my mind of God’s faithfulness through every morning, every mountain and every day in between. His faithfulness has been like a cradle that has carried me through countless seasons. The more I look back and remember who He’s been, the more I can’t help but sing, ‘I just want to thank the Lord.’ His faithfulness leads to my thankfulness.”

Hudson stewards the tender ballad with reverence as she sings of her deep friendship with God and His consistent trustworthiness across all her days. The song was inspired by numerous passages of Scripture like Hebrews 10:23: “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.” Live, Hudson, who is currently pregnant with her first child, often pairs “Been So Good” with familiar anthem “Goodness of God.”
