"Every atmosphere is changed when You draw near
Every failure falls away, in the silence I hear
The voice that calms the sea
You’re in the waters deep, no matter what I see"
As the days of our lives go by, it seems the people in our lives come and go as well. Through the seasons we experience, whether they be seasons of the heart or seasons of weather, the things we hold onto in this world can seem to fade out of view with increasing frequency. When the waves rise up, threatening to sink us, it can be all too easy to think that God is nowhere to be seen. In “Never Leave”, however, Red Rocks Worship shows that God is always with us, and fulfills His promise to never forsake His children. With a soft, slowly building energy, Red Rocks Worship provides a beautiful ballad for those whose hearts are in need of a true companion.
WATCH NOW: Red Rocks Worship “Never Leave”
“Never Leave” begins with a gentle, flowing melody, and a hopeful, steady piano, building slowly to the climactic moment of power contained in the chorus. The song’s lyrics remind us that not only is God always with us, but He is also for us. The Lord has planned our triumph out ahead of time, and He has the biggest role in carrying the plan forward. God stays with us when the going gets tough, even when our limited perspective can make us feel like we are alone in our struggles.
When we face dark situations, the shadows around us can make us forget about the light of Christ that is inside of us. In the moments where our focus is on the world around us, our sight can be taken off of the provision and perfection of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We must anchor our minds on God’s guarantee to be with us always, fighting an unseen battle in every moment of our lives.
“You are here, right now
Victory is breaking out
Right here, right now
Breaking chains that hold me down”
“Never Leave” was released as a single in March 2021, and again as part of Red Rocks Worship’s album, “Things of Heaven”, in September. Jerrica Matrone, one of Red Rocks Worship’s lead singers, seeks to give hope to listeners through her worship, proclaiming, “There is freedom for you in Jesus’ name. The enemy of your soul cannot steal your God-given purpose from you. don’t give up.”
