"God is not intimidated by our brokenness but rather drawn by it." - Travis Greene, speaking of his new album Broken Record
When it comes to writing a song about God's goodness and love, pastor and Gospel artist Travis Greene has more than one real life miracle story to draw from, beginning with the day he was born...
Travis was purple and had no breath, the birth was pronounced as stillborn. All this changed as his father prayed in faith for him and he was revived. Fast forward several years, the Greene family lived in Germany and one day, while Travis was visiting a friend, he fell out of a fourth story window. They were on an Air Force base and just across the street was a hospital. Two doctors arrived at the scene and attempted to revive him. Ultimately, they covered his body with a sheet and pronounced him dead. When his mom arrived, she picked up his lifeless body and prayed. For a second time, God revived Travis.
When leaving the hospital, four-year-old Travis shared his experience of the fall, and meeting Jesus, with his mom:
"Mom, I remember falling four floors, I remember falling out the window .... I said, but Mom I never hit the ground. There was a man with a big hand who caught me. I said, I couldn't see his face, but I heard a voice. He said, 'Do you want to go home with your mom or come with me?' I said, 'Well, sir. I want my mom.' He said, 'Okay, this time you go with her and next time you come with me.' And I'm four-years-old. I looked up and I said, 'Excuse me, wait, wait, excuse me - what is your name?" Travis continues, "He looked back at that four-year-old and said, 'Son, my name is Jesus.'"
Speaking about his mission, as a pastor and artist, Travis says, "If I'm here, I'm here on purpose ... I'm traveling the world now and just letting people know that God is real and that He is full of love towards us."
In his new song "Good and Loved" the message of God's love, as a banner over us, unfurls. Check out this beautiful performance with Steffany Gretzinger and enjoy the song on your Air1!
