Elevation Worship acknowledges that there’s a duality that exists with God. He is both a creator and a refiner, and we are the benefactor of both. That’s what their new song, “When Wind Meets Fire,” is ultimately about.

“In the Bible, God is defined as wind, but God is also defined as fire. Even in Genesis 1, whenever He used His breath, something was created. He sets things in motion when He speaks. And then the fire of God typically represents Him purifying us,” Elevation Worship’s Chris Brown explains, adding, “We want to be people who welcome both His wind and His fire into our lives. The prayer there is, ‘God, come and consume me. Light my way from the inside out so I know what pleases You and I do what pleases You. I know I won’t actually experience life until that happens.’”

Brown unites his voice with that of Tiffany Hudson as, together, they sing, “Lord, let my life be an altar. Light up my lungs with Your praise.” That last line is visually depicted on the artwork for the outfit’s latest GRAMMY®-nominated project, “When Wind Meets Fire,” which takes its name from the emotive selection. On the cover, a pair of lungs is illuminated by lightning.

Written by Steven Furtick, Joshua Holiday, Abbie Gamboa and Leeland Mooring, “When Wind Meets Fire” is just one of many powerful tracks the group has highlighted from the 14-song collection, which also features standout singles like “God Is Not Against Me,” “New Thing Coming,” “Sure Been Good,” and “Another One,” among others.

Elevation Worship recently celebrated their 7th and 8th GRAMMY® nominations for their explosive hit, “Praise,” and 2024’s “When Wind Meets Fire,” respectively. “Good Morning America” even shared a moment with the group on the red carpet ahead of this year’s GRAMMY® ceremony held in Los Angeles.

The award-winning collective, who won a GRAMMY® in 2022 for “Old Church Basement,” will resume their bestselling “Elevation Nights” tour at the end of February, making stops at arenas in Tulsa, Pittsburgh, Detroit and more.
