"Sometimes you’ve gotta dance through the darkness,
Sing through the fire, praise when it don’t make sense
Sometimes you’ve gotta stare down the giant
Worship from the lion’s den"
It seems that in order to grow, we often have to go through difficult situations and learn to trust God even though we might be hurting. Throughout scripture, we see heroes of the faith who choose to hold onto faith rather than their fear. Like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, we need to remember that God can save us from the fire. But even if He doesn’t, our faith should still be in God. In “Praise You Anywhere,” Brandon Lake brings us back to that powerful truth.

“Praise You Anywhere” begins with a bang, shouting out the confidence of the Lord from the get-go. This song’s joy-filled rock sound serves to enliven our spirits, as Lake’s ever-moving voice drives us to roar along to his proclamations of God’s worthiness. Even if we find ourselves in the midst of a deep darkness, the Lord is still good, faithful and kind. Even in the worst of circumstances, we need to shout out God’s praises.
Whether we stand on the mountaintop, or lie in the fire, we can trust that God loves us. The best way to get through it is to raise up a hallelujah despite the best efforts of our enemies to silence us. Though hope might be hard to find now, we will never be let down if we choose to hold onto our faith in God over all. For all we have seen, we have myriad reasons to praise. So let us boldly call on Christ by praising His name anywhere and everywhere.

“Faithful all my life,
blessings day and night
Countless reasons why
I’ll praise You anywhere”
“Praise You Anywhere” was released as a single in June 2023. As a word of advice to any worship leaders who might not feel qualified, Lake says, “Lead with that authority that God’s already given you. You just have to step into it. Like, I shake in my boots every single night when I go out to lead. I’m not kidding you. But there’s a moment that when you give your nerves and your weakness and your insecurity over to God, it turns into God's confidence.”
