Aodhán King and Lauren Daigle blend their voices on exquisite new song “Time,” a direct nod to Ecclesiastes 3:11: “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
The former Young & Free member and the multi-GRAMMY® winner originally wrote the breezy track for Daigle’s self-titled double album more than two-and-a-half years ago. The initial idea came to fruition when the “You Say” singer was on the beach reading Ecclesiastes. She took the Scripture passage and her thoughts into a co-write with King, who came up with the piano part, but the songstress never cut it. King, however, dusted off the poignant selection and recorded it for his recent solo debut, “Beyond Us.”
“Time” speaks to God’s perfect plan and the timeline He establishes for each of our lives. Led by King’s piano part and accented by lush strings and subtle horns, the ballad is an immediate standout on the Australian-born artist’s inaugural full-length project on which Daigle is one of many featured guests. “Beyond Us” also boasts cameos by LANY’s Paul Klein, Griff, Jenna Raine and Middle Kids’ Hannah Joy.
King is set to drop a deluxe edition of “Beyond Us” Jan. 31, 2025, that adds five previously unreleased tracks. With his creativity on overdrive, the newcomer has also been teasing a forthcoming EP, “Hallelujah (If Not For Your Love).” He’ll support Pat Barrett on a Canadian run of the “Beautiful Life Tour” starting in April.
Meanwhile, following her 2024 world tour, Daigle has announced select concert dates for the new year, which will take her everywhere from Florida’s beloved Strawberry Festival and Texas’ famous Houston Rodeo to Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. But first, she’s slated to perform “America the Beautiful” with Trombone Shorty ahead of Super Bowl LIX in her home state of Louisiana.
