Mayberry’s enthusiasm for worship music was ignited during the 2006 Passion conference, where Mayberry felt God speak to him, showing Mayberry that his musical talent could be used in new ways to praise Him. After the conference, Mayberry began investigating modern worship music. The artist cites Chris Tomlin’s music as some of the most influential in his life. Inspired, he would continue honing his songwriting talent and begin leading worship for a church in Chicago.

Eventually, Mayberry would land a publishing deal with Centricity, but would not be ready to place his name on the front of albums just yet. Instead, he continued writing and allowing others to present his songs. Without the confidence to place himself as a headlining singer, Mayberry would not be ready to present his own songs until 2018, when he would release his debut EP, “Joy”.

Over the next few years, Mayberry would release powerful singles like “Never Go Back,” “By My Side,” and “We’re Gonna Get There”. Some of these singles would be featured on Mayberry’s first studio album, “Holy Spirit Come” in 2021. Since then, Mayberry continues to release inspired singles such as “Only Jesus” and “Easy To Praise”. Mayberry’s “Breakthrough Miracle Power” would even be featured at a Passion conference itself, helping today’s college students to find some of the inspiration that helped the artist find his calling himself.
Mayberry seems to just be getting started, and we cannot wait to hear what passionate, moving message he will bring us in his next songs. On the success of his music, Mayberry says:
“I am learning that as cheesy as this might sound…God is my publisher. So on my best day, I just wanna be kind to people, work really hard, stay authentic, and create songs that truly minister to people right where they are….all while having a ton of fun!”
