Jim Houser

Chief Radio Officer

Favorite Core Value: In His Strength: It’s not about us.

Jim Houser joined EMF in 2020, and has served the ministry in multiple leadership roles, including as the Chief Radio Officer, beginning in 2023. He oversees the content for the Air1 and K-LOVE radio networks.

The grandson of a pastor, Jim grew up in New Jersey with a passion for radio from an early age. When he turned 6, Jim committed his life to Christ. He faced a crisis of faith at the age of 16, however, upset with God about losing his father. A few years later, Jim attended Cedarville University to study broadcast production; and there, God used mentors, friends and the Bible to show him he could not outrun His love.

Jim's career began with on-air work in radio during college, progressing to editing at the national talk-radio program “Focus on the Family,” and later, creation and hosting of a weekly syndicated Christian-hit-music show. In 1995, Jim moved to Nashville to take a position at Sparrow Records (now Capitol Christian), working in radio promotion and eventually artist development. Next, he was selected by an artist management company, Creative Trust, as managing partner, where he supported the careers of Steven Curtis Chapman, Mary Beth Chapman, Brandon Heath, Britt Nicole and others.
